Day 9, March 23rd

Posted by on March 23, 2013

First day back on the trail was a good one. Ended up doing 11.5 miles. Knees felt good for the most part. I left Neels Gap around 10:30am after resupplying and sending some stuff home. Made it to Low Gap around 4:00pm.

I figured out the “Gus pulling on the leash” situation. I taught him to hike behind me. It took about 15 minutes. Was much easier on me. Really glad we found an easy way to hike together. Makes it a lot more enjoyable.

The weather was overcast and cool, it was actually really nice to hike in. Not too hot and not too cold. The rain stopped right before I was leaving and didn’t make an appearance for the rest of the day.

I am now laying in my tent and ready to fall asleep. I don’t think the weather is going to be that great tomorrow. Rain… I guess we will find out in the morning. Have a good night everyone and I will update you again soon.

Thanks Jar! Tell Carson I’m in North Georgia. It’s going to take at least 5-6 months to finish the trail. So most likely be finished sometime in September.
